Ebay sucks, and so does the seller. And for that matter, the people that think this is cool, to rip someone off by being deceitful,, can take a leap!

My guess is that you will be covered and get the Unlimited Mobile to Any Mobile (just as the person above is on his family plan which is no longer offered).
Just wondering, are you paying more or less than the 900 Nation Plan ($59.99) for the 1350 plan which you are grandfathered in to?
Thanks!
I just looked. I am paying $20 more than the 900 plan & $10 more than the unlimited plan. I believe I am going to lower it to the 900 & lose the 11,200 rollover minutes that I will never use. At one time I was using the 1350 a month, but I no longer have a need for it.

Clearly the new DC wont be serving up iTunes content if they are using an external storage provider...making the article stupidly misleading to many folks.
This must mean the DC will be primarily for MobileMe. Resulting in the continuation of crap iDisk performance for Apples largest audience: Anyone outside the US.

You see? This is the problem when there's no competition. Pretty soon we'll have three main carriers (ATT, Verizon and Sprint). One of them decides to increase prices, then the other will follow suit. I'll go with an iPod touch and a paid phone once my contract is up. Screw them all!

I have a black iPhone 4 but I think I may wait until the iPhone 5 hits and pickup a white iPhone 4 for $99 as a collectors item. I don't think I'm going to get the iPhone 5 because I have a policy to only buy a new iPhone every other year and I doubt the iPhone 6 will have the same design. I really, really like the look of the iPhone 4 and I always thought the white one was the better looking one that's why I want one in my collection.

Apple should just roll their own.
They have the power, the talent, the size, and certainly the scale, to go their own way with an excellent chance of success.
The more things they do in-house, the better. It'll only enhance the Apple ecosystem and grow it.
Is this always the best approach? Unless Apple intends to invent something beyond the wheel, why just invent the wheel all over again? The duplication of effort doesnt sound very cost effective. And for good or ill, we do operate in a Neo-Liberal economy where its most cost effective to source services and products from others. All the same I can understand the Google thing, but I dont think the articles distance itself from Google language is the best choice of words. Reduce dependency on Google would be more accurate. Anyway, I would have to think that Apples plan is to move beyond the wheel. I wonder what that will look like?

The only thing interesting in this thread is Steve Jobs' health, god bless he is in good condition, hope you get well Steve, and I hope you will feel better in the future and not have any health issues any more.
BTW, Jobs is not interested in peoples location, the media just hypes everything up and if you want absolute privacy, go live in a bunker.

The idea of paying $50 more makes some have a hissy fit while MOST are right to complain about it in a normal, reasonable way.
AT&T is obviously more than legally able to do this but it is obvious to anyone that they are doing it strictly to add more $ to their pockets. And the response to that will be that they are allowed to and that EVERYONE wants more money. Yes, and consumers are allowed to complain when companies do something STRICTLY to make them pay more.
There is really no reason for AT&T to do this other than to make consumers pay more. When AT&T does this, they should expect a backlash
You cut off the rest of the point (you didn't even bother to quote the rest of the sentence.. you could have at least done that and bolded the part you wanted to address).... which I noticed no one addressed including you. You cut off the part where I was addressing those saying they were going to Verizon over this (which I call throwing a hissy fit since the only reason to do that cause they'll get even less of a early upgrade discount is cause you are wanting to spite AT&T). Who doesn't even let you get any discount for any early upgrades so in that respect they are worse than AT&T. So how does having a hissy fit and going to Verizon help those people who are that upset they are going to Verizon?
Plus I disagree that this is solely just to make more money (or that it is the only reason that could be why they are increasing prices). Prices of *everything* is going up these days. Which means AT&T's prices are going up. They just might be finding it is not feasible to allow people to upgrade early with that much discount.

this might be OT, but the castle thing made me think of a few other points too. Apologies in advance.
1. MobileMe should NOT be rebranded. They can "add cloud castle level security" whatever, but keep it simple. MobileMe has great recognition (if a subpar rep, but see AppleTV) attached to it.
2. MobileMe should be worth the money. It is currently a ripoff when so much else is free. Apple should give a small wifi dropbox style sync for free among apple products (like dropbox) under the MobileMe name, and a wifi sync for iphone (free). This is not "entitlement", this is a basic functionality in 2011.
Not that anyone from apple is going to read this but whatever
If "A mans Home is his castle" then maybe what they are talking about is a service that upgrades the users home folder to a "Castle" which would be stored and syncing to the Cloud and across all your devices.
In which case in would be better if it wasn't linked to MobileMe at all.
If MobileMe is your public face then iCloud is your private stuff.
Yes security relying on obscurity is no security at all, but that doesn't mean that obscurity isn't a valid early security measure. So keeping your iCloud user name separate is important.
After all your email address is out there in public, so you don't want that tied to your private storehouse do you.
Also If someone has a different public face ie. their own domain then the syncing service could still be useful to them.
I think this might add to MobileMe becoming free, but reduced in size. With a set of Paid upgrade that the user can select to suit. So if you just want live access to itunes library then you can have just that. Want to sync your home folder then that is a bit more. It allows for better targetting of the value.
IF this system is about Home folder syncing then I hope it allows for control of which info is in which home folder. So that I could have a User Profiles for various places like Work and Home. If I bookmark something at work i want to be able to see that at home but not the other way around.

This thread http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1127873 is asking about drive sizes for PPC machines but the thread on the apple site pointed to doesn't seem to answer the question definitively - at least to me but I'm kinda new.
what is the max drive size for a PPC with with a ATA controller in one of the PCI slots?
I have heard of the 2TB limit per drive before. I cannot confirm this 100% though as all my drives are less than 2TB. I have 3.5 TB total but it consists of 3x 1TB and 1x 500GB.
I think 2TB drives are a great option for you. They can be had for as little as 75-80 each these days and 4 of them would give you 8TB in your file server. Not too shabby.
I myself plan to buy a couple 2TB drives soon as I am running out of space even with 3.5 TB.

OK, so Steve is making good on his promise of "Apple everywhere", hence the "Apple, Inc." conversion. But seriously, those of us outside the USA will not see the iPhone until late 07 (we follow the European market rather than the Asian), and while well get the units unlocked (so we need not worry about plans and cellular providers) thats still almost a year away.
While Ill be ordering the Apple TV and the new AP Extreme, the keynote left too many questions unanswered: Where are the Leopard previews? I doubt Apple will announce a special event just for its operating system and applications, so are we to wait until WWDC to get another look at the next OS? Is Apple abandoning its policy of a yearly upgrade to iLife? And what about the hardware (2ed generation Mac Pros / new portables etc)? Where are the expansions to international iTunes stores and iDisk?
Apple, Inc. is hardly a day old and already I dont like the way the company chose to announce new products :(

Not sure about any specials. All I have read is about 500 T-shirts for those who get it.
I am not sure if I am going to go to the Burlington store or Cambridgeside yet. I work in Cambridge, so its easy. But then again I was one of the original workers of the Burlington store.
